Switchpin are one of the few bands from our former .COM site who are still going strong. Hailing from the wilds of Colorado they exist to exude power and rock venues wherever they go.
We're hoping to run a more extensive feature on Switchpin in the not so distant future, as they've always stayed in touch with The "i" over the years even when we weren't live for a year after the demise of the old .COM site.
Check them out, play them loud, hear them play hard. You won't regret it.

SWITCHPIN
"The Truest Form of Flattery" CD review
SWITCHPIN first came to our attention back in the days of Metal-i.com, our previous incarnation. From the inception of that site's "Metal-i F'inM" mp3 station to its end, Switchpin were never out of the F'in Top Ten. Now we're back, and they never left, just getting better and better...
Switchpin hail from the mountains of Colorado, USA, an area probably best known for the South Park cartoons. If this is what the mo
untains can produce, then there's gonna be some avalanches and rockslides this Winter. A five-piece with an intense hardcore style, they are on a self-proclaimed quest "to turn the tides of metal warfare from a whiter shade of pale to a murky somber black", and have shared a stage with some true metal heavyweights - Slayer, Killswitch Engage, 36 Crazyfists Mastodon and Dry Kill Logic to name but a few.
Taking inspiration from the likes of Sepultura, Pantera and Slayer, your mother ain't gonna like this, and your granny will run a mile. But it will be on your playlist for a long time to come. "A Breakdow
n..." is one of the best tracks we've heard in some time, although the other tracks on the album are just as damn good judging by what we've heard so far. Enough audio intensity to have your speakers shaking enough to scare your neighbours. They've even gained sponsorship from from Jagermeister and the famed JagerMusic Band Program which can only bring them to the top of the snowcapped mountains of metal.
Switchpin put us in mind of other up'n'coming hard-hitting bands such as GODPLAYER, interspersed with elements of Fear Factory. The playing on this track is virtually faultless, the vocals solid and the growls are fierce, the production solid, a combination that's going to have you looking for a moshpit or starting one in the street. A snarling animal looking for blood, it grabs you by the neck and doesn't let go. Our copy of the CD "Truest Form of Flattery" is on order now! You've got no excuse, you need this to educate your eardrums.
