A WORD FROM THE DOG:
We've been wanting to review Puck for ages, and they've been high on the list of "Bands We REALLY Need To Review ASAP" since the last update, too many moons ago. I heard 'em and has been spreading the word ever since, bringing their music to many. Hopefully, with some help from NM, we can bring Puck to the masses. This review by recent convert to the cause and regular NM collaborator JohnBonhamAtron.

UPDATE!
Puck are competing in a Battle of The Bands to win a support slot at the Rock n Roll Charity Concert on the 9th August with the Sugababes. Yes, the Sugababes. Puck haven't sold out, this is an incredible opportunity for the band if they get through to showcase their stuff. Best of luck from all at NM to ya!

PUCK - Myspace tracks reviewed
review by JohnBonhamAtronWell, where to start… I’m almost literally
lost for words here (not THAT lost, don’t worry), such is the quality of the stuff Puck have uploaded to their myspace. Hailing from the Sarf of England (London, in fact), Puck are one of those bands who combine powerhouse riffs with female vocals.
Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. I’ll tell you now, it works a fucking treat with Puck!
Starting off with the tracks they list as unmixed. Well, it’s clear they haven’t been mixed down yet. Everything in the mix is very bright and pingy, a bit too bright. However, and it’s a big however, the tracks that HAVE been mixedproperly sound as well produced as ANY commercial album you’d care to name.
But enough of the technical bollocks… are the songs any good? Does a bear shit in the woods?
The songs on their Myspace are without a word of a lie, stunning. With that visceral, growly guitar, drums going like a piledriver, the bass thrumming along nicely in the back and that AWESOME voice wailing away on top, Puck gives out like Nightwish on a good day. There’s simply no faulting the musicianship, the songwriting, the singing… well, any of it!The real revelation, though, are the live videos on their Myspace. All too often you see bands who rock on CD/MP3 are shite live (Amy Lee of Evanescence, she who can’t hold a note live, I’m looking at you!) and I was expecting some half-arsed, piss-poor attempt at rock on the live vids. But… Puck, on the other hand? Sodding hell, they’re even better live! (Bulldog says: not willing to take Bon's word for it? Check out the vid below!)
PUCK - "All That You Are" (live)
You can probably guess what score they’re going to get, but I’ll spell it out. Puck are a revelation, taking the best bits of bands like Nightwish, Evanescence, and so on, and grinding through their amps in their own inimitable style. Stand out track, despite it not being mixed properly yet, is “What If”, because it has one of the best bloody riffs I’ve heard in a long time, and I literally CAN’T stop my head from banging along.
Listen to Puck. Right now. If you don’t, you don’t like rock. And if any record execs are reading this, sign Puck up. Right. Fucking. Now!
