Another casualty of causality, Nine Pages announced in the Autumn of 2006 that they were no more, the members going their separate ways amicably, all heading towards solo stuff or other bands. A band that The "I" sadly never got to see live due to our commitments in the real world, Nine Pages stood out as a band of originality against the constant drone of so many generic clones and wannabes. Good luck lads, you'll be missed. You can still check out their "farewell" track on Myspace at the link below.
NINE PAGES - Myspace tracks reviewed
Croydon, South London-based band Nine Pages mailed us to see if we'd check out one of their promo tracks. Which we did. And we liked. And we'll be going to see them in the near future (see Feb & March gig lists). They've already been compared to artists like The Deftones, Tool and Sikth (we won't mention Fightstar here lads, not until they can play and sing at the same time), and we'll add Linkin Park (in their better days) to that too. Nine Pages only played their first gig last May (2005), having recorded 3 demos in the short time since they formed. They're set to play The Cartoon in March alongside the mighty
NAMASTE, a gig which should be on every METAL-ier's calendar. Promo track Walking Through Timelines is a tour-de-force of powerful and catchy guitar licks, multi-frequency vocal twists and destined to be on our playlist for a good while yet. You can check the band out at their official site and test the limits of your speakers with more tunes on their MySpace page. Already signed to an 8-month development deal with Chromium/E3 Records, they'll be releasing two singles soon. Hard to believe they've only been together as a band for barely a year!
