We were a bit harsh on Element. They didn't like our review much, but we're honest - we say what we think. Wouldn't be right to tell porkies about how good a band is after all. Other bands, such as The Rampton Release Date, took that criticism on board, went and learned and came back better than before. But not everyone has that attitude it seems.

It's not that we disliked Element, we just think they could have tried harder, done better, and in this cut-throat world of rock, not trying hard enough is not good enough. Pure and simple. We'll be reviewing Element's NEW stuff in the near future, stay tuned.

ELEMENT - review

Element hail from England's north-western wastelands, an eclectic 4-piece taking their musical direction from sources as diverse as ElementMetallica to Lynard Skynard. Early-Pantera influences show through here musically, but Element lack Anselmo's raw energy and neck-breaking sound, but it's not like anyone could match. There's some tight and crunchy riffs here tho' and that propels Element just ahead of others competing in the same game. It's head-nodding stuff, but not quite together enough to get a floor packed with thrashin' hair. Vocal direction on the earlier stuff comes across as a lil outta tune on a couple songs, but with the title track from Element's new demo "Just Desires", featuring new Lead Guitarist "E" (formerly of BDV), there's a determination and a potential to take this up a level. From what we've heard, Element ain't bad, so go judge for yourself. There is room for improvement in most areas. We reckon you won't turn it off, but on the other hand would you turn it up? We'd like to see Element achieve that next level, and look forward to hearing the results.
